Daryl Diamond, CFP, CLU, CHFC, is an advisor, author, and educator on the subject of using your assets to realize the greatest amount of security and satisfaction during the retirement years. He is well known among his peers as one of the first financial advisors in Canada to identify the special skills and knowledge required to turn accumulated assets into income, while reconciling the varying needs for income and lifestyle as individuals and couples progress through the stages of retirement.
His Winnipeg Canada-based practice, Diamond Retirement Planning Ltd., is dedicated to this service as well as to the investment strategies, health-risk management issues, and wealth transfer considerations that are unique to this market. Of his 33 years in the financial services industry, the last 18 have been dedicated to the area of retirement income planning. This has provided a great deal of insight into and experience in the key considerations and issues that retirees must address.
He has been published twice. His second book, Buying Time, was first published by John Wiley and Sons in 2003. This book focuses on helping retirees and those about to retire to better plan the use of their money and time by working more closely with their advisor. The revised version of this title was released in January 2008.
He is in demand across the industry to impart his insights and train other advisors in these new, specialized strategies. In 2006, he presented at the Top of the Table annual meeting and addressed the MDRT annual meeting in 2009.
He has written formal training programs on retirement income planning for Canada’s largest bank, the Canadian operation of an international life insurance company, and one of Canada’s premiere mutual fund companies. He has also written a comprehensive, step-by-step retirement income planning manual for advisors entitled Maximum Income Strategies.
Daryl was recently invited to be a contributor to clientinsights.ca, a consumer-oriented information site on financial issues involving both investment manager, academic, and planning specialist content.
He is a sought-after speaker, writer, and trainer on the topic of income planning, and these functions now comprise 30% of his business.
