
Nick Shepherd, FCMC, FCGA, FCCA, FCMI, has more than 40 years of business experience and since 1989 has been running his own management consulting and professional development company, EduVision Inc., which provides professional facilitation and management consulting and development services to public and private sector organizations.
A Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario (FCMC - Honour Roll), and Past President of the Institute, Nick is Past Chair of the National Certification Committee for all Institutes of Management Consulting across Canada, is Past Chair of the Professional Standards Committee of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), and served as one of four trustees for Canada at the ICMCI. He has been a CGA (Certified General Accountant) for more than 30 years and recently received recognition as a "Fellow" of the Association. Nick is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA UK), and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI - UK). Nick is a senior member of the American Society for Quality and Past Chair of the Quality Costs Committee of the Management Quality Division. He is also a member of Mensa.
Nick is a well-known professional development facilitator, and teaches the national 3 day "Controller's Program," and the 2 day "Advanced Controller's Program"; he also presents many professional development workshops across Canada on an annual basis. In 2006 Nick received the President’s Award for Education from the Certified General Accountants of British Columbia.
Nick is the author of the book Governance, Accountability, and Sustainable Development that deals with Governance issues for the 21st century, and is published by Thomson Carswell, and the Controller's Handbook (now in its 2nd edition) — these books add to a number of other books and articles that Nick has also written. He was one of a group of global contributors to the IFAC report on Sustainability entitled Professional Accountants in Business — At the Heart of Sustainability. Nick has also authored the publications Values and Ethics: From Inception to Practice, The Evolution of Accountability — Sustainability Reporting for Accountants, and a new publication titled Unrecognized Intangible Assets: Identification, Management, and Reporting published by the U.S. Institute of Management Accountants. He has also developed several Ethics courses for members and students of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada and for Management Consulting institutes. Nick is presently working on a new book about the importance of combining tasks and building relationships as steps to organizational effectiveness.
