Athabasca University Executive MBA

CGA-Canada has a degree partnership with Athabasca University that allows qualified CGAs to get advanced standing and transfer credits for the AU MBA degree. The AU MBA features a curriculum designed to augment accounting and financial knowledge with an in-depth examination of the key areas of management.


Laurentian University Online Honours Bachelor of Commerce (H.B.Com)

CGA-Canada, in partnership with Laurentian University, has developed an online H.B.Com for CGAs. CGAs are eligible for advanced standing and transfer credits for the LU H.B.Com degree.


Laurentian University’s Online MBA

CGA-Canada, in partnership with Laurentian University, has developed a unique online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program for CGAs. CGAs are eligible for advanced standing and transfer credits for the LU MBA degree. CGA Designation for CPA Australia members

On April 8, 2008 CPA Australia and CGA-Canada announced a Mutual Recognition Agreement. The agreement provides a mechanism for members to become designated by the other association. It also formalizes the relationship between two internationally active professional accounting bodies.


CGA Tax and Financial Strategies Program

This 10-month telecourse is a tax-focused business solutions case study program, with a concentration on real-life patterns that are most likely to be encountered by public practitioners. This program will be of interest to new and established practitioners seeking to improve their practices in the area of taxation by providing value-added services to their clients, while minimizing the risk of professional liability.


Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (Climate Change)

The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute, a non-profit organization, supports the global community of practitioners working on GHG measurement, accounting, verification, and management. Through training, professional certification, research, and international development programs, the Institute is building the carbon management infrastructure of the future.


Vancouver Island University's Forensic Accounting Program for CGAs

The agreement between CGA-Canada and Vancouver Island University (VIU) allows CGAs in good standing to apply for an exemption for the Accounting and Finance for Fraud Investigators course towards VIU's Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigation Advanced Diploma.


Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

The ACCA is offering a 20% discount to members for their Certificate in International Auditing and Certificate in International Financial Reporting. This offer is exclusive to CGAs and students; you must sign in or register to access.


CGA Designation for ACCA members

On December 18, 2006, ACCA and CGA-Canada announced a Mutual Recognition Agreement. The agreement provides a mechanism for members to become designated by the other association. It also formalizes the relationship between two internationally active professional accounting bodies.


Credit Institute of Canada

Certified Credit Professional (CCP) Program provides credit professionals with the management skills to assume a leadership role in their organizations. CGAs receive a 10% discount.


Canadian Institute of Management — Professional Manager Designation for CGAs

The Canadian Institute of Management recognizes that a CGA in good standing, registered with a provincial CGA association, and holding five years of recognized managerial experience, is qualified to obtain the designation of Professional Manager.


Canadian Anti-Money Laundering Institute (CAMLI)

As a CGA you can fast-track to the CAMLI designation to formalize your knowledge of compliance controls under Canada’s Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) Compliance Regime.


The Canadian Payroll Association

The agreement between CGA-Canada and the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) allows CGAs in good standing to apply for exemptions for the Introduction to Accounting course and Managerial Accounting course towards the CPA’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certifications.


Canadian Institute of Financial Planning

The CIFP is a registered provider of courses leading to the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. CGAs and students are offered a 25% discount on courses. An exemption from the Income Tax Planning course is available to CGAs only. This offer is exclusive to CGAs and students; you must sign in or register for access.


Canadian Association of Management Consultants

CAMC requires an undergraduate degree as one of the steps to begin the process of getting the CMC designation. The CAMC recognizes the value of the CGA designation and provides degree requirement exemption to CGAs.


Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI)

The Association of Certified Forensic Investigators of Canada (ACFI) is a non-profit organization that promotes and fosters a national forum and governing body for professionals who provide fraud prevention, detection, and investigation services to the public, governments, and employers.


CGA-Canada and CPA Ireland Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA)

Ready for a New Challenge? The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) and CGA-Canada’s mutual recognition agreement (MRA) establishes a strategic partnership between two leading accounting organizations and gives members the opportunity to qualify for a second designation.


Directors' Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP)

Are you a director of a corporation, government agency, or not-for-profit? To help you excel in your role, ICSA/Institute of Chartered Secretaries Canada has developed the Directors' Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP), a three-day intensive program leading to a recognized accreditation (Acc.Dir.). Exclusive to CGAs; you must sign in or register to access.


The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Canada

CGAs need only take ICSA’s final four (4) examinations – Corporate Law, Corporate Secretarial Practice & Procedures, Corporate Administration, and Corporate Governance.


The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)

CGAs can obtain a course exemption to Part IV of the four-part exam of the CIA program. The CGA designation is equivalent to the CIA admission requirement of a Bachelor’s degree. Please note: Membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors is open to all CGAs even if you do not hold the CIA designation
